“Some albums come out of nowhere; this one comes from Bulgaria, which might as well be the next best thing if what you are looking for is sensual trip-hop or jazz-inspired film scores. Yet this otherworldliness is what makes this collaboration between the Bluba Lu duo, the Primo chamber orchestra and the vocalist Andronia Popova such a winner. On tracks such as The Cage or To Love You they take you back to a time when listening to Portishead was a pleasure. Yes, Beyond and Hold Back sound like clichеd spy movie theme tunes, and a point has been knocked off for the whole thing going on too long, but there is plenty worth investigating here.”
